Carlos Alfredo Vera Rodríguez (born June 25, 1976 ) is an Ecuadorian football referee and since 2006 international referee of FIFA .

Vera has directed matches at the Copa Libertadores , the Copa Sudamericana , World Cup qualifiers and the U-20 South American Football Championship . In 2011 he was selected for the Copa America and in 2012 he was allowed to direct games at the Club World Cup for the FIFA . He was also scheduled for two games at the U20 World Cup in 2013 .

In 2014 Vera took part in the World Cup in Brazil and led two games in the group stage. In the final , which was directed by Nicola Rizzoli , he was the 4th official .
