Benedict Stahl

Benedikt Stahl (born June 17, 1960 in Olpe ) is a German architect and university professor .

Life

Benedikt Stahl studied from 1984 to 1989 at the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and in Düsseldorf. Immediately after completing his diploma examination with Wolfgang Meisenheimer , he became a lecturer and head of the room laboratory at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences . He gave guest seminars on the subject of the room laboratory at the Vienna University of Technology . Since 1992 he has been running a studio in partnership with Niklaus Fritschi in Düsseldorf. After a substitute professorship at the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, he was appointed professor at the Alanus University in Alfter near Bonn and was elected department head in 2011.

In addition to his work at the Alfter University of Applied Sciences, he works in his studio on urban spatial concepts and designs for schools and kindergartens.

  • 1998 German urban development award for designing the banks of the Rhine with the Apollo Varieté Theater, Düsseldorf.
  • 1997 BDA award for good buildings for designing the banks of the Rhine.
  • 1996 “Design of public spaces” - DAM Frankfurt and Deutsche Bank AG - 1st prize for Burgplatz, Düsseldorf.
  • 1994 Waterfront Center Washington - Top honor for planning the banks of the Rhine, Düsseldorf.
