Sidi Alioum

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sidi Alioum (born July 17, 1982 ) is a Cameroonian football referee .

Alioum was nominated as a support referee for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and was used as fourth official in five games . He has been an international referee since 2008.

For a long time "Néant" was given as the given name for Alioum. This is due to a misunderstanding on the part of the FIFA administration. When he registered for the FIFA list, the clerk only had his last name at hand when it was entered in the FIFA online database. Since an entry in the field provided for the first name was mandatory, the processor entered "Néant" (French for "nothing"). This entry was viewed by the media as a first name and was so widespread, which is why Sidi Alioum was known under the name Néant Alioum until 2015.
