MTV Unplugged Kahedi Radio Show is a live album from the MTV Unplugged series. The 42-track work is also the first live album by the Stuttgart hip-hop artist Max Herre and contains not only current songs but also titles from his former band Freundeskreis . From the album, which was released on December 13, 2013, the songs Fremde (feat. Sophie Hunger) and ANNA (Always when it rains) were released as singles.

Emergence

According to the artist himself, the plan to record an unplugged album came into being at the beginning of 2013. Nevertheless, there was little time for rehearsals due to the late start of the preparation phase. The performance was rehearsed with the orchestra for hardly more than a week.

The show was recorded in front of guests in the large broadcasting hall 1 of the Berlin radio station Nalepastraße . Lillo Scrimali , Samon Kawamura , Max Herre and Roberto Di Gioia were responsible for the arrangements and the musical direction . KAHEDI is made up of the first two letters of the last three last names mentioned . The production team often appears under this name.

The vocals and spoken chants of Max Herre and invited guest musicians, including Samy Deluxe , Gregory Porter and Joy Denalane , were instrumental in a 25-piece orchestra. The majority of these musicians, including Lillo Scrimali, also takes part in the TV show The Voice of Germany , in which Max Herre coaches casting show participants.

In keeping with the location of the recording, Kahedi Radio Show was staged as a radio show, through which Fab 5 hosted Freddy .

On the album's release date, the show was broadcast in visual form on the music networks MTV and VIVA .

Reviews

Kahedi Radio Show received consistently positive reviews from critics. Laut.de , for example, found the album to be “a highlight” of many “appearances under the MTV banner” and attested great “musical diversity” and “intimacy of the gigs”. Author Thomas Haas rated the album four out of five stars.
