Laura López Castro (born  August 17, 1980 in Göppingen ) is a German singer of Spanish descent.

Laura López Castro grew up in Salach near Stuttgart . In 2002 she began working with the composer and guitarist Don Philippe . This led to the publication of their joint debut album Mi Libro Abierto ("My Open Book") in March 2006 on Max Herre's label Nesola.

In September 2006 Laura and Don Philippe toured Germany with Joy Denalane . In November 2006 followed a European tour with Stuart A. Staples .

In September 2007 the second album by the composition duo Laura Lopez Castro y Don Philippe inventan el ser feliz was released by Nesola.

In August 2010, the songwriter duo released their third album under the title Optativo on Nesola.

style

Her writing is trained on the works of Pablo Neruda , Comte de Lautréamont , Atahualpa Yupanqui and South American songwriters of the 1970s such as Víctor Jara , but is also influenced by the poetry of Portuguese music such as Fado .
