history
On November 14, 2001 , the Internet school newspaper of the Free Waldorf School in Engelberg went online. On June 24, 2002, the magazine won 1st place in the Spiegel school newspaper competition in the online category. "An exception, the most professional site of all applicants," said the jury in the Spiegel-Verlag press release. Over time, the magazine separated from the school and under the direction of Janos Burghardt, yaez developed into an internet magazine for young people with a mix of politics and lifestyle. Since the beginning of 2003, concepts have been developed for a print title, which ultimately led to the publication of the first edition in autumn 2003. On May 31, 2007 the publishing house announced an expansion to Hessen for September 2007. In January 2008, yaez was also published in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland and thus covers the important area Nielsen III. Since September 2008, yaez has been published nationwide in over 5,000 schools and leisure facilities with a total circulation of 340,000 copies.
