Kléber Giacomance de Souza Freitas , called Kléber , (born August 12, 1983 in Osasco , SP ) is a Brazilian football player .

Career

Beginnings and Dynamo Kiev

At the age of six, he expressed his desire to play at the football school in the neighborhood with great determination. In 1994, at the age of eleven, he was invited by his coach to play a game against a São Paulo FC children's team. São Paulo coach Paulo Nani was impressed with Kléber's skills. After the game, the player was invited to a trial training session and then accepted into the club's youth department. Already in the year the first success came with winning the Copa São Paulo for juniors. In addition to Kléber, this team also included other football stars such as Kaká , Júlio Baptista and Fábio Simplício .

The success continues with winning the U-20 World Cup in 2003. After this World Cup, the player received offers from various clubs, including a. also from Europe. At the end of the year, Kléber then accepted an offer from Dynamo Kiev in the Ukraine . The transfer fee proposed by Dynamo was 2.2 million dollars (six million reals), which was accepted by São Paulo. In Kiev, Kléber earned the nickname Gladiator due to his robust playing style and determination. In the Ukrainian he was able to win three national championships (2005, 2007 and 2009) and three times the Ukrainian Cup (2005, 2006 and 2007).

Palmeiras, Cruzeiro and back

In 2008, Kléber had to return to Brazil. He was loaned to Palmeiras São Paulo for a year . As he scored the "important" goals in some games, the player quickly won the support of the fans. In the spring of 2008, winning the São Paulo state championship could be celebrated. However, he was suspended for three games in the course of the competition for assault (elbow strike).

On February 1st, 2009 it became public that Kléber had been signed by the Belo Horizonte club . Dynamo Kiev, who at the time still held the transfer rights to the player, received the striker Guilherme Milhomem Gusmão from Cruzeiro in exchange . In addition, Dynamo paid a transfer fee of five million euros (around fourteen million real). After surgery on the pubic bone in September 2009, Kléber fell for the rest of the season.

On June 2, 2010, the President of Cruzeiro announced that the contract with Kléber would not be renewed. The player expressed a desire to return to São Paulo , where his family and two daughters lived. On June 8th, Kléber was officially introduced as a Palmeiras player.

Further stations

At a press conference in November 2011, the management of Grêmio announced the signing of Kléber. He suffered a serious injury in mid-2012 and was out for several months. After Kléber started the 2014 season with Grêmio, he moved to CR Vasco da Gama in July .

In June 2015, the player was signed by Coritiba FC . In December 2015, Kléber's contract with Coritiba was extended by one year. Another two-year extension followed at the end of 2016. At the beginning of July 2018, the club unilaterally canceled the contract with Kléber. Three weeks later it was announced that Kléber will receive 40,000 thousand reais a month until his contract expires at the end of the year . Should he conclude a new contract beforehand, the payments will lapse.

At the beginning of August 2018 it was announced that Kléber had signed a contract with Austin Bolt FC for the American second division.
