Moacir Rodrigues dos Santos (born March 21, 1970 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian soccer player.

Career

The 1.85 meter tall midfielder began his career in 1988 when he signed a four-year contract with Atlético Mineiro . In his first season he appeared in eleven league games without a goal for him. The following season, the midfielder completed 14 league games. It was not until the 1990 season that he scored his first league game goal for Mineiro, playing ten games in total. In the next year, Moacir completed 17 league games and scored three times. In his last season he played twelve league games and scored one goal. In five years Moacir made 64 league appearances and five goals.

In 1993 he moved to the Corinthians São Paulo , where he was only under contract for one season. For the 1993/94 season he signed a contract with traditional Spanish club Atlético Madrid , where he played eleven league games and scored one goal. After the end of the season he returned to the Corinthians, but by the 1994/95 season Moacir was back in Spain, this time for Sevilla FC . In his debut season with the "Rojiblancos" he was used in 17 league games, scoring one goal. Moacir also met once for Sevilla in the 1995/96 season, but this time he only made 13 league appearances. In 1996 he went back to his home country and also to his first professional station, namely to Atlético Mineiro . During this season he played 16 league games and scored three goals. But just one season later, Moacir moved to Portuguesa , where he had 21 games without scoring. In 1998 he had a short guest appearance at the Japanese club Tokyo Verdy .

From 1999 to 2002 he was still under contract with Ituano FC and after the 2003 season, when he was in the squad of Uberaba SC , Moacir ended his active career.

For the Brazilian national soccer team , he played a total of six full international matches in 1990 and 1991. He made his debut on September 12, 1990 against Spain and played his last international match on November 9, 1991 in a 1-0 loss to Wales . On April 7, 1991 Moacir scored his only international goal against Romania (1-0).
