Rudolf Müller-Gerhardt
Johann Rudolf Müller-Gerhardt (born April 28, 1873 in Chemnitz ; † January 8, 1962 in Leipzig ) was a German animal and landscape painter.
Life
Rudolf Müller-Gerhardt first completed an apprenticeship as a lithographer . This was followed by academic training as a student of Eugen Bracht at the Art Academy in Berlin and then with Emanuel Hegenbarth at the Dresden Art Academy . After study trips that took him to the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Paris, he was based in Leipzig. Müller-Gerhardt was a member of the Berlin Academy of the Arts . The majority of the motifs in his pictures were depictions of animals and landscapes. His pictures have been acquired by numerous museums, for example in Zwickau, Dresden, Leipzig and Düsseldorf.
