Aílton , full name Aílton dos Santos Ferraz (born January 19, 1966 in Rio de Janeiro ), is a former Brazilian football player and current football coach.

Career

The 1.70 meter tall midfielder began his career in 1985 with Flamengo Rio de Janeiro . He played in the middle together with Zico , Jorge Luís Andrade da Silva and Zinho in midfield. Together with Júnior he was one of the most important players of the year. In 1992 he was under contract with Guarani FC and from 1993 to 1994 with Kashiwa Reysol . In 1995 he returned to the Fluminense FC club. At the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol against Portuguesa , he came on as a substitute in the 85th minute and scored the decisive goal for victory. From 1996 to 2002 he was under contract with various clubs, before he signed a contract with Uberlândia EC in 2002 for a season. After the season he ended his career as a football player.

In 2007 he began his career as a coach at America FC . With one exception, he has been a coach at Brazilian clubs for all of the years, and in 2012 he coached the Japanese club Kashima Antlers . He has been under contract with Audax Rio de Janeiro since 2015 .
