Career

society

Hakan Özmert was born in the French city of Nantes and started playing club football in the youth team of FC Nantes when he was six . In 1998 the family moved back to Turkey and Özmert played here in the youth of Akyazıspor.

In spring 2003 he became a professional footballer at Sakaryaspor , but played two and a half seasons mainly for the reserve team and only made seven league appearances during this time. 2003/04 he was in the squad of the team that won the championship of the TFF 1st Lig and rose to the Süper Lig .

The second half of the season he spent on loan from the second division Karşıyaka SK .

2005/06 he returned to Sakaryaspor, which had meanwhile been relegated and played in the TFF 1st Lig. Here he now belonged to the group of regularly used players. At the end of the season he and his team were promoted to the Süper Lig. 2006/07 he was also used regularly in the Süper Lig for Sakaryaspor.

For the 2007/08 season he moved to the second division Antalyaspor . Here he became a regular player straight away and managed to get promoted to the Süper Lig with his team. He then played two seasons in the Süper Lig for Antalyaspor, but was only used occasionally.

In 2010/11 he moved within the league to promoted Kardemir Karabükspor and immediately became a regular.

For the new season he moved again, this time again within the league to promoted Orduspor and immediately became a regular player.

At the end of the season he broke his contract by mutual agreement with Orduspor and a short time later moved together with his teammate Yalçın Ayhan to the newly promoted Kasımpaşa Istanbul . He left this club during the winter break after his contract had previously been terminated by mutual agreement.

After only half a season he left Kasımpaşa and returned to his old club Kardemir Karabükspor . After he missed relegation with this club in the summer of 2015, Özmert moved to the first division club Sivasspor . In spring 2016 he moved on to Istanbul Başakşehir within the league .
