Yalçın Ayhan (born May 1, 1982 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

society

Ayhan went through the youth teams of Beşiktaş Istanbul and İstanbulspor . At Istanbulspor he made his debut as a professional player. After his first season he was loaned to Çanakkale Dardanelspor . When he returned, Yalçın Ayhan was now part of the regular squad. In the 2005/06 season he moved to Galatasaray Istanbul . For him it was a big step forward in his career, but he could not prevail for the main lineup. With four short appearances, he and the team became Turkish football champions for the first time in his career .

The following season he played for Kayseri Erciyesspor . At Kayseri Erciyesspor he also did not get beyond the role of supplementary player. Ayhan therefore switched to Sakaryaspor during the winter break . With Sakaryaspor Yalçın Ayhan rose in the 2nd division. He didn't play for the club for a minute. In the 2007/08 season things continued to go bad for the central defender. Neither at Vestel Manisaspor nor at İstanbulspor could he find his luck. That changed with the transfer to Antalyaspor . Especially with his coach Mehmet Özdilek Ayhan was a constant in the defense of Antalyaspor. After two years in Antalya, he moved to Gaziantepspor .

Although Ayhan played at Gaziantepspor as a regular player in the 2010/11 season, he left Gaziantepspor and moved to the promoted Orduspor .

At the end of the season he dissolved his contract by mutual agreement with Orduspor and a short time later moved to the newly promoted Kasımpaşa Istanbul together with his teammate Hakan Özmert .

In mid-July 2014, Ayhan's move to Beşiktaş Istanbul was announced. A few days later, Beşiktaş tried to unilaterally dissolve the signed contract. After Ayhan initially responded negatively to a contract termination, he finally agreed. A few weeks later he signed with Istanbul Başakşehir with another Istanbul first division club. At this club he immediately established himself as a regular player and top performer and in these functions contributed to the fact that the club experienced its most successful time in the club's history with two fourth placements, a runner-up in the Süper Lig and a cup final .

Despite his services to Başakşehir FK, he did not receive a contract extension in the summer of 2017. whereupon he was committed by the promoted Yeni Malatyaspor . In the second half of the 2017/18 season, Ayhan played for Osmanlıspor FK . After six months he left Osmanlıspor and switched to MKE Ankaragücü .

In January 2020 he left the capital city for the Istanbul second division club Fatih Karagümrük SK .

National team

Ayhan was in September 2005 for the first time for the second selection of the Turkish national team and made his international debut on June 1, 2011 in a 1-1 draw against the second selection Germany .

Controversies about grossly unsportsmanlike conduct

February 2013: Controversy with Volkan Demirel

In the Turkish league match on February 24, 2013 between Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Kasımpaşa Istanbul , there was a controversy between Ayhan and the opponent's goalkeeper Volkan Demirel . This controversy continued after the final whistle on the way from the dressing room to the team bus. Demirel is said to have stopped Ayhan at the team bus and insulted him first. He is then said to have threatened Ayhan to have him picked up from his home. Demirel assessed these accusations as lies and said that he only wanted to ask Ayhan if he had insulted Demirel's mother and, if so, that he should say this insult to his face. The incident went to court demanding that Demirel be sentenced to four years and four months in prison.
