Turgut Doğan Şahin (born February 2, 1988 in Tarsus ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

society

Turgut Şahin made his debut at Samsunspor on December 9, 2006 in the 2nd division against Gaziantep BB . Another assignment followed in the same season. The following season Şahin played 17 league games and scored two goals. He made the first goal of his career on February 17, 2008 in the game against Orduspor in the 89th minute. The game ended 1-1. In the following two seasons Turgut Şahin completed 57 league games and scored 23 goals.

Shortly before the end of the 2010/11 summer transfer period, the first division club MKE Ankaragücü signed him . After Ankaragücü ran into financial difficulties in the 2011/12 season and was unable to pay the players' salaries for several months, a large part of the squad was released under contract. A large number of the players left the club during the winter break this season. In this context, Şahin also moved to the southern Turkish first division club Gaziantepspor . At this club he gradually established himself as a service provider. Especially in the 2013/14 season he increased his performance and was nominated for the Turkish national team .

The good form at Gaziantepspor ensured that Şahin became one of the most sought-after players of the 2014 summer transfer period. In the beginning he was associated with Galatasaray Istanbul and Beşiktaş Istanbul , but eventually switched to Trabzonspor .

At Trabzonspor he played two games in the pre-season preparation camp. During this camp he discussed after the preparatory game in the locker room with head coach Vahid Halilhodžić and was then suspended from the squad together with six other players. Then he was put on the sales list. In the summer of 2014 he moved to the second division club Kayserispor .

In the spring of 2016, he returned to Turkey and joined the first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara . At the end of the season he changed clubs again and moved on to the first division club Kasımpaşa Istanbul . For the 2016/17 season he moved within the Süper Lig to promoted Yeni Malatyaspor .

National team

Şahin played twice for the Turkish U-21 team .

From 2011 to 2012, Şahin also played five times for the second selection of the Turkish national team .

After he knew how to convince at his club for several weeks, he was nominated for the squad of the Turkish national team by national coach Fatih Terim following the 2013/14 season as part of an 18-day international game trip . In the first game of this international trip, Şahin made his international debut in the friendly against the Kosovar soccer team .
