Arif Morkaya (born May 30, 1989 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish football player .
Career
society
Morkaya was born in the Istanbul district of Eminönü and began playing club football in the youth of the Turkish top club Galatasaray Istanbul . In the summer of 2003 he left the youth of Galatasaray and played in turn for the youth teams of Istanbul Kartal Belediyespor , Bakırköyspor and İstanbulspor . In spring 2007 he received a professional contract with the latter, but was loaned to the fourth division club Bakırköyspor. For this club he completed two league matches by the end of the season and then returned to İstanbulspor. For İstanbulspor he played the next two seasons and played a total of 19 league games.
For the 2009/10 season he left İstanbulspor and moved to the fourth division team Darıca Gençlerbirliği . Here he immediately established himself as a regular player and played the next three seasons.
After his contract with Darıca Gençlerbirliği had expired in the summer of 2012, he moved to the second division club 1461 Trabzon free of charge . In the spring of 1461 he left Trabzon and moved to the TFF 3rd Lig to Altınordu Izmir . At the end of the season he rose with this club as a fourth division champion in the TFF 2nd Lig. In the first third division season he reached the third division championship with Altınordu two days before the end of the season and thus promotion to the TFF 1. Lig.
In the summer of 2017, he and his teammate Yusuf Abdioğlu moved within the league to the newly promoted MKE Ankaragücü . Here he and his team became champions of the TFF 1st Lig at the end of the season and thus rose to the Süper Lig . For the new season Morkaya left the capital city and moved to his first professional club İstanbulspor. He also stayed here for a season and moved on to city and league rivals Fatih Karagümrük SK in summer 2019 .
