Charles Fernando Basílio da Silva , called Charles , (born February 14, 1985 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian football player .
Career
Charles began his football training at Cruzeiro EC from Belo Horizonte . In 2005 he made his debut at the age of twenty. Here he could not assert himself in the long run, so that he was initially loaned to various lower-class clubs.
In 2008 he moved to Europe to work for Lokomotiv Moscow. He played only a few games here and went back to Brazil on loan in 2011. His next stadium was the Santos FC. Here was mostly in reserve again, but won the 2011 Copa Libertadores title with the team . In the same year it went again, this time back to his old hometown club Cruzeiro. After the 2012 season he played no role again with the new coach Marcelo Oliveira and was loaned again. By the end of the 2013 season he went to São Paulo to Palmeiras. He returned to Cruzeiro in the 2015 season to 32 appearances in various competitions. At the end of the season, his contract was no longer extended.
In the spring of 2016, Charles moved to the Turkish first division club Antalyaspor . He played his first game in the Turkish Süper Lig in the 2015/16 season on February 5, 2016 against Fenerbahçe Istanbul . In the game he was substituted on for Danilo in the 80th minute . Charles scored his first league goal for Antalyaspor on May 13, 2016. In the 20th minute he scored the goal with the right to make it 2-0 against Trabzonspor after submission by Ömer Şişmanoğlu (7-0).
