Çağdaş Atan [ ˈtʃaːdaʃ ˈatan ] (born February 29, 1980 in Izmir ) is a Turkish football coach and former player.

Career

society

Çağdaş Atan began his professional career in 2000 at Marmarisspor . Stations at Altay Izmir and Denizlispor followed . In 2004 the defender moved to Beşiktaş Istanbul . In the same year Atan made his international debut in the first round of the 2004/05 UEFA Cup in the starting eleven, in the away game against FK Bodø / Glimt . In the Süper Lig 2004/05 Atan played 20 times. He was just as often on the pitch in the following Süper Lig season, he made five appearances in the UEFA Cup.

From 2006 bis 2008 who played center-back for Trabzonspor . Atan moved to Energie Cottbus on a free transfer for the 2008/09 season . On June 24th, 2009 he signed a two-year contract with FC Basel .

In the 2010/11 season , Çağdaş Atan became Swiss champions for the second time with FC Basel. At the end of this season, FC Basel decided not to extend the contract.

On August 18, 2011, it was announced that Çağdaş Atan has joined the Turkish club Mersin İdman Yurdu , who had been promoted to the Süper Lig last season .

After just one season with Mersin IY, he left this club and moved within the league to Akhisar Belediyespor .

After he could not find an agreement for a contract extension with his club in the summer, Atan moved to the second division Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor . For the next second half of the season he left Gaziantep BB and instead signed on with league rivals Manisaspor .

After the 2014/15 season, he ended his career.

National team

Çağdaş Atan played twice for the Turkish national team . In his debut on February 18, 2004 in the friendly against Denmark , coach Şenol Güneş changed him in the 74th minute. In his second international game on March 31, 2004 against Croatia Atan was substituted on by interim coach Ünal Karaman in the second half. In the 78th minute he scored a goal.
