Bulut first played football in his native Werdohl. In 2004 he went to the Sportfreunde Oestrich-Iserlohn . After four years he moved to VfL Bochum . There he played in the youth teams until the 2012/13 season . From the 2013/14 season to the end of the 2015/16 season , Bulut was part of the professional squad of VfL. He made his second division debut on July 29, 2013, when he came on as a substitute for Danny Latza in the home game against Dynamo Dresden after 79 minutes .

At the beginning of the 2016/17 season , Bulut moved to SC Freiburg . He made his first division debut on August 28, 2016 in the away game against Hertha BSC , when he came on for Aleksandar Ignjovski in the 66th minute of the game . On the second day of the match he was in the starting line-up of SC Freiburg for the first time at the home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach . In the following weeks he was regularly part of the regular team at Freiburg, but lost his place in the team after the eighth matchday against FC Augsburg and only made a few appearances at the end of the season when Freiburg finished the season in seventh place.

In the first half of the 2017/18 season , Bulut only made a short appearance in the Bundesliga and finally switched to the second division club Eintracht Braunschweig on January 25, 2018 , where he was signed as the successor to Onel Hernández . According to press releases, Braunschweig paid “a higher six-figure fee” to Freiburg. At the end of the season, the midfielder was relegated to the third division with Eintracht and held the class with the team in the 2018/19 season as tenth in the table.

At the end of July 2019, the players and the club agreed to terminate the contract, which is still valid for two years, to enable Bulut to move to the Turkish first division at Alanyaspor .
