Ben van Eysselsteijn
Ben van Eysselsteijn (born January 22, 1898 in Hellevoetsluis , † August 13, 1973 in Sliedrecht ) was a Dutch journalist and writer .
Career
Van Eysselsteijn was an editor for the Haagsche Courant and the Haagsche Post . As a writer, he published novels and thrillers. Several of his works have been translated into German. During the Second World War, the occupation publication Deutsche Zeitung in the Netherlands printed Vom Südkreuz zum Polarstern as a serial novel as well as two older articles without his consent; in the case of the novel, this was possible because the newspaper was able to fall back on foreign rights that had already been granted. Van Eysselsteijn's attitude towards this is contradictory: on the one hand, he protested against the publications, on the other hand, he expressed his satisfaction in private about the publication of his novel in the newspaper.
