Career
society
Yıldız started his career at Sivasspor . He played there until 2003 . In the meantime, he was attacking Çarsambaspor. Mehmet Yıldız played at Antalyaspor for half a season and at Türk Telekomspor for the rest of the season . After the unsuccessful years, Mehmet Yıldız went back to Sivasspor. In 2005/06 he moved to İstanbulspor on loan . Since his return from Istanbul he has been one of Sivasspor's regulars. He stands out with his physical strength, aggressive style of play and his hard shots.
For the 2011/12 season he moved to Eskişehirspor within the Süper Lig . Crucial for this transfer was the fact that Eskişehirspor was coached by Yıldız 'old coach Bülent Uygun at the time. Uygun was released before the season started. So Yıldız played at Eskişehirspor until the winter break and then moved to league rivals Kardemir Karabükspor .
After a year for Karabükspor, he moved to league rivals Mersin İdman Yurdu for the winter break of 2012/13 . With this club he missed relegation at the end of the season. Despite the relegation, Yıldız stayed with this club and managed with this on the playoff win the direct promotion. Yıldız contributed ten goals in 30 games to this success.
Despite the promotion, Yıldız Mersin İY left for the summer of 2014 and instead switched to the second division team Ankaraspor . With this club, which immediately after the commitment Yıldız 'renamed Osmanlıspor FK , he reached the runner-up in the TFF 1. Lig and thus for the third time in his career promotion to the Süper Lig . After this success, Yıldız left the club again for the new season.
National team
Yıldız made his international debut on March 28, 2007 in the European Championship qualifier against Norway. Although Yıldız was third in the league's scorers list in the 2007/08 season , he was not called up in the squad of the Turkish national team in the Euro 2008 .
