Puy-du-Lac is a French municipality with 487 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton Saint-Jean-d'Angély (until 2015: canton Tonnay-Boutonne ). The inhabitants are called Puy-Lacquois .
geography
Puy-du-Lac is located about 25 kilometers north-north-west of Saintes on the Boutonne River , which forms the southern municipal boundary, in the Saintonge . Puy-du-Lac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tonnay-Boutonne in the north and northeast, Archingeay in the east, Champdolent in the south and southwest and Saint-Coutant-le-Grand in the west.
