Saint-Julien-de-l'Escap is a French municipality with 891 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton Matha (until 2015: canton Saint-Jean-d'Angély ). The inhabitants are called Escapiens .

Saint-Julien-de-l'Escap is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jean-d'Angély in the north, south and west, Courcelles in the north and north-east, Varaize in the east, Fontenet in the south-east and Asnières-la-Giraud in the south and Southwest.
