Neuvicq-le-Chateau is a French commune with a population of 321 (as at 1st January 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton Matha . The inhabitants are called Neuvicquois .

Neuvicq-le-Château is located about 17 kilometers northeast of Cognac in the Saintonge . Neuvicq-le-Château is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bresdon in the north, Val-d'Auge in the north-east, Rouillac in the east, Mareuil in the south-east, Courbillac in the south, Macqueville in the west and south-west and Siecq in the north-west.
