Saivres is a French commune with 1,461 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Saint-Maixent-l'École (until 2015: Canton of Saint-Maixent-l'École-1 ). The inhabitants are called Saputiens .

Saivres is about 14 kilometers northeast of Niort . Saivres is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Georges-de-Noisné in the north, Exireuil in the east and northeast, Saint-Maixent-l'École in the south, Azay-le-Brûlé in the south and southwest and Augé in the west.
