geography
Vançais is located in the historic Poitou countryside , about 38 kilometers southwest of the city of Poitiers . The municipality is bordered to the south by the River Dive and north by the Vienne department . Neighboring municipalities are Chenay and Lezay in the west, Sainte-Soline in the south, Rome in the east and Saint-Sauvant in the north.
