Reiner Tetzner

Reiner Tetzner (* 1936 in Neukirchen , Erzgebirge ) is a German publicist.

Tetzner initially completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter , later he studied philosophy and a minor in physics at the University of Leipzig . In 1966 he received his doctorate on abstraction processes in physical theory formation. Until 1975 he was employed as a research assistant at the University of Leipzig.

Tetzner has been working as a freelance author since 1976 and has published numerous books on Greek and Germanic sagas of gods and heroes, among other things. In this context, he is a founding member and was chairman of the working group for comparative mythology from 1995 to 2019 . In addition, he was a founding member and chairman of the Saxon Literature Council from 1995 to 2001.

Tetzner is married to the writer Gerti Tetzner .
