Cherveux is a French commune with 1,905 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Autize-Égray (until 2015: canton of Saint-Maixent-l'École-1 ).

Cherveux is about eleven kilometers northeast of Niort . Cherveux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Christophe-sur-Roc and La Chapelle-Bâton in the north, Augé in the east and northeast, Azay-le-Brûlé in the east, La Crèche in the southeast, François and Saint-Gelais in the south, Échire in the Southwest, Germond-Rouvre to the west and northwest and Champdeniers to the northwest.
