Saint-Michel-Mont-Mercure was a French community with last 2,024 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it belonged to the arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton Les Herbiers (until 2015: canton Pouzauges ). Saint-Michel-Mont-Mercure is a district of the municipality of Sèvremont . The inhabitants are called Michelais .

Saint-Michel-Mont-Mercure is about 66 kilometers southeast of Nantes . The municipality of Saint-Michel-Mont-Mercure was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Les Epesses in the north, Les Châtelliers-Châteaumur in the northeast, La Flocellière in the east and south, Le Boupère in the southwest, Saint-Paul-en-Pareds in the west and Saint- Mars-la-Réorthe in the northwest.
The former route nationale 752 (today's D752) leads through the former municipal area .
history
During the Second World War, one of the larger radio relay systems of the German armed forces was located here.
The municipality of Saint-Michel-Mont-Mercure merged on January 1, 2016 with La Flocellière , La Pommeraie-sur-Sèvre and Les Châtelliers-Châteaumur to form the new municipality of Sèvremont.
