The Hormersdorfer Hochmoor is a nature reserve (NSG) in the Erzgebirgskreis in Saxony . The 10.63 hectare area with NSG no. C 05 is about 1 kilometer south of the Hormersdorf locality , a district of the city of Zwönitz .

The nature reserve was placed under protection in 1961. The last change was made by the ordinance of the Erzgebirgskreis district office of May 31, 2010 (SächsGVBl. P. 216).

description

The moor is one of the northernmost raised bogs in the Ore Mountains. It is also popularly known as pine soft. Most of the moor was dismantled before the First World War .

The following plants can be found in the bog: mountain pine ( Pinus mugo ), downy birch ( Betula pubescens ), Juncus effesus , Juncus filiformis , Juncus squarrosus , Calluna vulgaris , Vaccinium myrtillus , Oxycoccus palustris and round-leaved sundew ( Drosera rotundifolia ).
