Location of the canton of Challans in the Vendée department

The Canton Challans is a French administrative unit in the arrondissement La Roche-sur-Yon and Les Sables d'Olonne , in the Vendée and the region Pays de la Loire ; its main town is Challans . Serge Rondeau ( DVD ) has been a representative in the General Council of the Department since 2011 .

Until the state-wide reorganization of the cantons in March 2015, the canton of Challans consisted of the six municipalities of Bois-de-Céné , Challans , Châteauneuf , Froidfond , La Garnache and Sallertaine . Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​253.10 km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 8503.
