Châteauneuf is a French commune with 1,056 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Les Sables-d'Olonne and the Canton of Challans . The inhabitants are called Castelneuviens .

geography

Châteauneuf is located in the northwest of the department, about twelve kilometers inland from the Atlantic coast. Châteauneuf is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Gervais in the north and west, Bois-de-Céné in the north and east, La Garnache in the south-east and Sallertaine in the south and south-west.
