Commequiers is a French municipality with 3505 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . Commequiers belongs to the Arrondissement of Les Sables-d'Olonne and the canton of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez . The municipality is a member of the Pays de Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie municipal association . The inhabitants call themselves Commequiérois .
geography
Commequiers is bounded in the south by the River Vie , is close to the Atlantic coast and is part of the Côte de Lumière . Commequiers is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Challans in the north, Saint-Christophe-du-Ligneron in the northeast, Apremont in the east, Coëx and Saint-Maixent-sur-Vie in the south, Le Fenouiller in the southwest, Notre-Dame-de-Riez in the west and southwest and Soullans in the northwest.
