L'Aiguillon-sur-Vie is a French commune with 1,965 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . L'Aiguillon-sur-Vie belongs to the Arrondissement of Les Sables-d'Olonne and the canton of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez (until 2015: canton of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie ). The municipality is a member of the Pays de Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie municipal association . The inhabitants are called Aiguillonais .

L'Aiguillon-sur-Vie is located near the Atlantic coast and is bounded in the south by the Jaunay . L'Aiguillon-sur-Vie is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Réverend in the north, Coëx in the northeast, La Chapelle-Hermier in the east, Landevieille in the southeast, La Chaize-Giraud in the south, Bretignolles-sur-Mer in the west and southwest as well Givrand to the west and northwest.
