Coëx is a French municipality with 3176 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . Commequiers belongs to the Arrondissement of Les Sables-d'Olonne and the canton of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez . The municipality is a member of the Pays de Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie municipal association . The inhabitants call themselves Coëxiens .
geography
Coëx is bounded in the north by the River Vie , is located near the Atlantic coast and is part of the Côte de Lumière . Coëx is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Commequiers in the north and north-west, Apremont in the north and north-east, Aizenay in the east, La Chapelle-Hermier in the south, L'Aiguillon-sur-Vie in the south-west, Saint-Révérend in the west and south-west and Saint-Maixent -sur-vie in the northwest.
