The Christ the King's Church in Oberlisse

The Roman Catholic branch church Gerasdorf-Oberlisse (also: Seelsorgezentrum Gerasdorf-Oberlisse ) is located on Stammersdorfer Strasse in the Oberlisse settlement of the Gerasdorf municipality near Vienna in the Korneuburg district in Lower Austria . It is consecrated to the feast of Christ the King and, as a branch church of the Gerasdorf parish near Vienna, belongs to the Wolkersdorf deanery in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna .

history

The church with adjoining pastoral care center was built in 1968 by Hans Zeiler and consecrated in 1968 . The free-standing bell tower was added in 1983.

Building description

The church is a square, centrally oriented building with a pastoral care center in the south. The bell tower is free. The side fronts of the church are designed without windows. The interior, however, is illuminated by a square raised central area with glass fronts. Due to the acute-angled struts, this glass front is also interpreted as the "Chrone Christi".

Furnishing

The pews are arranged on three sides around the square elevated central area. The crucifix dates from around 1660 and was originally in the former priest and deficit house on Ungargasse in Vienna-Landstrasse . The figure of Maria Immaculata from around 1720 was created in the environment of Giovanni Giuliani . The Way of the Cross, consisting of wooden panels, was made in 1968 based on a design by Ernst Degasperi .
