Le Fenouiller is a French commune in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire , near the Atlantic coast and is part of the Côte de Lumière . Le Fenouiller belongs to the Arrondissement of Les Sables-d'Olonne and the canton of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez . The municipality is a member of the Pays de Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie municipal association . The inhabitants call themselves Fénolétain .

Le Fenouiller is located on the Vie river , into which the Ligneron flows, and is a banlieue of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie . Le Fenouiller is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Notre-Dame-de-Riez in the north and northeast, Commequiers in the northeast, Saint-Maixent-sur-Vie in the east, Saint-Révérend in the southeast, Givrand in the south and Olonne-sur-Mer in the south , Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie to the west and south-west and Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez to the west and north-west.
