The Ligneron is a river in France that runs in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region . It rises near the hamlet of Bellevue , on the municipal boundary of Maché and Saint-Christophe-du-Ligneron , drains in an arc from northwest to southwest and flows 30 kilometers into the municipal boundary of Le Fenouiller and Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez as a right tributary in the vie . In its lower reaches, it passes the southern foothills of the Marais Breton marshland and is drawn in via a network of canals to drain it.
