Sallertaine is a French village with 3,099 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Les Sables-d'Olonne and the Canton of Challans . The inhabitants are called Sallertainois .

Sallertaine is located in the northwest of the department. Sallertaine is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Gervais in the north and north-west, Châteauneuf in the north and north-east, La Garnache in the east and north-east, Challans in the east and south-east, Le Perrier in the south, Saint-Jean-de-Monts in the south-west, La Barre -de-Monts to the west and Saint-Urbain to the west and northwest.
