The canton of Montaigu is a French constituency in the district of La Roche-sur-Yon , in Vendée and the region Pays de la Loire ; its main town is Montaigu-Vendée . Wilfrid Montassier ( UDI ) and Isabelle Rivière ( LR ) have been representatives on the Department's General Council since 2015 .

Until the nationwide reorganization of the cantons in March 2015, the canton of Montaigu consisted of the ten municipalities of Boufféré , Cugand , La Bernardière , La Boissière-de-Montaigu , La Bruffière , La Guyonnière , Montaigu , Saint-Georges-de-Montaigu , and Saint-Hilaire -de-Loulay and Treize-Septiers . Its layout corresponded to an area of 235.78 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 8514.
