Boufféré is a village and a former French commune with 3,383 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belonged to the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and the canton of Montaigu . The inhabitants are called Boufféréen .
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Boufféré , La Guyonnière , Montaigu , Saint-Georges-de-Montaigu and Saint-Hilaire-de-Loulay were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Montaigu-Vendée and have the status of a commune in the new municipality déléguée . The administrative headquarters are in Montaigu.
geography
Boufféré is located on the Maine and about 30 kilometers south of Nantes . Boufféré is surrounded by the villages of Saint-Hilaire-de-Loulay in the north, Montaigu in the east and northeast, Saint-Georges-de-Montaigu in the east and southeast, Les Brouzils in the south, L'Herbergement in the south and southwest, and Saint-André -Treize-Voies in the southwest and Vieillevigne in the west.
The A83 autoroute and the former Route nationale 763 run along the town .
