On January 1, 2018, Boisserolles merged with Belleville , Prissé-la-Charrière and Saint-Étienne-la-Cigogne to form the new municipality of Plaine-d'Argenson. The municipality of Boisserolles belonged to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Mignon-et-Boutonne .
