Mount Benninghoff is a 1965 m high and mainly ice-free mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 2.5 km southeast of Terra Cotta Mountain in the Quartermain Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names renamed it in 1993 after the US botanist William S. Benninghoff (1918-1993) from the University of Michigan , who as a member of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research repeatedly Antarctica to the Polar Research Board visited and 1966-1986 of National Academy of Sciences .
