Yannick Fonsat

Yannick Fonsat (born June 16, 1988 in Paris ) is a French sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

In 2007 he was fourth in the 4-by-400-meter relay at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Birmingham . At the European Junior Athletics Championships in Hengelo , he won gold in the individual competition and bronze in the relay.

In 2009 he reached the semi- finals at the European Indoor Championships in Turin over 400 m and was sixth in the season. At the Mediterranean Games he won bronze in the individual competition and silver in the relay and at the European Athletics U23 Championships in Kaunas gold in the individual competition and bronze in the relay. At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin , he came in seventh place with the French 4 x 400 meter relay.

In 2010 he failed at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Doha with the French 4 x 400 meter relay in the preliminary run. At the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona he reached the semifinals over 400 m and was sixth in the relay.

At the European Championships in Helsinki in 2012 , he won bronze over 400 m and came fourth with the French 4 x 400 meter relay.

In 2014, he came third at the World Relays in Nassau in the 4 x 200 meter relay with Christophe Lemaitre , Ben Bassaw and Ken Romain , with the French quartet setting the current European record with 1: 20.66 minutes. At the European Championships in Zurich , he reached the semifinals.

In 2011 and 2012 he was French champion over 400 m, in 2012 French indoor champion over 200 m .
