The 3,000-meter obstacle course for women at the European Athletics Championships 2012 was held on June 28 and 30, 2012 in the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki .
With silver and bronze, the German obstacle runners won two medals in this competition. European champion was the Turkish Gülcan Mıngır . Silver went to Antje Möldner-Schmidt . Gesa Felicitas Krause took third place .

The existing EM record was not set at these European championships and was not improved.
doping
This competition was also overshadowed by doping cases, four in number:
- The Ukrainian Switlana Schmidt was stripped of her silver medal after irregularities in her biological passport in 2015.
- The Russian Lyubov Charlamowa , first be run as thirteenth, has been banned for violations of the doping regulations of the Russian Athletics Federation RusAF for two years. Your result from these European championships was canceled.
- The Spaniard Marta Domínguez , who did not finish her preliminary race, was banned from the International Court of Justice for three years. All of its results achieved between August 5, 2009 and January 4, 2013 have been deleted.
- The Turkish Binnaz Uslu , who did not finish in the first heat, was suspended for two years. Your results obtained since March 13, 2007 have been canceled.
The main victims were three runners:
- The German Gesa Felicitas Krause received her bronze medal only after a long time. She could not take part in the award ceremony.
- The Polish Matylda Kowal could participate in the Finals over time rule.
- The British Hatti Archer would also have been eligible to participate in the final based on the time she achieved.
