Gülcan Mıngır (born May 21, 1989 in Döğer ) is a Turkish former long-distance runner who specialized in the obstacle course .

Mıngır gained his first international experience at the Junior World Championships 2008 in Bydgoszcz , where she finished twelfth in the obstacle course. At the U23 European Championships 2011 in Ostrava , she won the gold medal. In the same year she also competed at the World Championships in Daegu , but was eliminated as sixth of her preliminary round in the preliminary round.

In June 2012 Mıngır advanced to the top of the world when she increased her best time in Sofia by over 26 seconds to 9: 13.53 minutes. With this she set a Turkish record and moved up to sixth place on the all-time European best list. A few weeks later she lived up to her new favorite role at the European Championships in Helsinki and won the title in front of Switlana Schmidt (Ukraine) , who was later disqualified for doping, and the German Antje Möldner-Schmidt .

Mıngır was part of the Turkish squad for the 2012 Olympic Games . In London , she covered the 3000 meter obstacle course in 9: 47.35 minutes in advance. So she could not qualify for the Olympic final.

Gülcan Mingir came under suspicion of doping and was provisionally suspended at the beginning of February 2020 by the independent integrity commission AIU of the world athletics federation World Athletics , since the banned steroid Turinabol was found after a new test of her sample from the 2012 Olympic Games . In April 2020, she was subsequently disqualified by the IOC for doping . She was also banned for two years.
