Marija Jurijiwna Schatalowa ( Ukrainian Марія Юріївна Шаталова , English transcription Mariya Shatalova ; born March 1, 1989 in Rivne , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian obstacle runner .

Athletic career

In 2011 Maria Schatalowa won the bronze medal at the U23 European Championships in Ostrava in the obstacle course. In 2015 she took part in the World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated in the preliminary round despite a new best performance. In 2016, she just missed a medal in fourth place at the European Championships . At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she ran a new personal best in the preliminary round, but could still not qualify for the final.
