Sandra Elisabet Eriksson (born June 4, 1989 in Nykarleby ) is a Finnish middle-distance runner who specializes in the 3000 meter obstacle course .

Athletic career

She took part in the 2007 Junior European Championships, where she was tenth, and the 2008 Junior World Championships in Beijing , where she was fifth. At the U23 European Championships in Kaunas in 2009 , she just missed a medal in fourth. She also took part in the 2009 World Championships in Berlin , but could not reach the final.

In 2010 she was eliminated from the qualification at the European Championships in Barcelona , as well as at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, in 2012 she reached tenth place in the final of the European Championships and qualified for the Olympic Games in London , where she was eliminated in the preliminary round . In 2013, she was eliminated again in the preliminary round of the World Championships . At the 2015 European Indoor Championships she was fifth over 3000 meters and set a new national record with 8: 54.06 minutes. This was followed by a first round at the World Championships in Beijing . At the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2016 , she finished tenth and qualified again for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated in the qualification .

Her greatest successes at national level were the Finnish Championships in 2008 and 2009, where she came first.
