The men's 400-meter hurdles at the European Athletics Championships in 1950 was held from August 24 to 27, 1950 in the Heysel Stadium in the Belgian capital, Brussels .

European champion was the Italian Armando Filiput . He won ahead of the Soviet runner Yuri Litujew . Bronze went to the Briton Harry Whittle .
