The men's 100-meter run at the European Athletics Championships in 1950 was held on August 26 and 27, 1950 in the Heysel Stadium in the Belgian capital, Brussels .

With silver and bronze there were two medals for Sweden in this competition. Toivo Hyytiäinen from Finland became European champion . Per-Arne Berglund came in second. Bronze went to Ragnar Ericzon.

qualification

The sixteen participants competed in a joint qualifying round. The qualification distance for direct entry into the final was 65.00 m. As only four throwers exceeded this distance (highlighted in light blue), the final field was filled with the next placed athletes to nine participants (highlighted in light green). So finally 60.66 m was enough for the final.
