Toivo Hyytiäinen

Toivo Hyytiäinen ( Toivo Armas Hyytiäinen ; born November 12, 1925 in Saarijärvi , † October 21, 1978 ) was a Finnish javelin thrower .

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , he won the bronze medal behind the Americans Cy Young and Bill Miller . Two years earlier he won gold at the European Athletics Championships in Brussels , ahead of Swedes Per-Arne Berglund and Ragnar Ericson .
