Klaus Tafelmeier

Klaus Tafelmeier (born April 12, 1958 in Singen (Hohentwiel) ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant who - starting for Germany - won the gold medal in the javelin throw at the 1986 European Championships . In the same year he became the first holder of the world record with the newly prescribed javelin with a height of 85.74 m.

In his youth he went to the Friedrich-Wöhler Gymnasium in Singen , where he is still on the record table as the record holder of almost all throwing disciplines. Klaus Tafelmeier belonged to the sports club Bayer 04 Leverkusen . In his active days he was 1.90 m tall and weighed 94 kg. Tafelmeier now works for Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
